• Schneider’s Insect Medium was developed to encourage the growth of Imaginal Discs excised from Drosophila melanogaster, the fruit fly.
• Schneider’s Drosophila Medium also promotes rapid growth of both primary and existing cell cultures derived from Drosophila spp and several other dipterans when supplemented with 5-20% heat-inactivated Fetal Bovine Serum.
